Pictures of people doing things and things being things

I’m really in love with this photo blog created by Cali and Jenna Thornhill Dewitt.  I’m not sure what it is called but here is the link to get to it.

 I want to use some of these photographs as part of a writing exercise, where you describe the moment in time captured by each particular photo (especially the abandoned cars, the piled New Year’s detritus, the run-down buildings). It makes me want to do my own photo blog, of Santa Rosa, as a way to capture things that might otherwise pass me by. As a way to capture a town that I’ve made my home, as a way to make peace with a place where I feel a bit itchy and discontent, as a way to think in moments and not in expectations.
